Energy conservation is not about making limited resources last as long as they can, that would mean that you are doing nothing more than prolonging a crisis until you finally run out of energy resources altogether. Energy conservation is sometimes confused with energy efficiency, but being energy efficient means using less energy for a constant or regular service. Energy efficiency and energy conservation are often referred to as the cheapest and cleanest sources of energy.
Energy conservation is achieved through behavioral changes, such as turning off lights when not needed, using household appliances differently, carpooling, and so forth. That said, to help you understand why energy conservation is important you should know that there are two kinds of energy sources we depend on renewable and nonrenewable.
