TheBenefits Of A LED Lighting Are Endless

Health Benefits Related To A LED LightingA LED lighting is the newest in technology for energy efficient lighting design. LED lighting is the perfect solution for your always-on lifestyle. LED lighting is very energy efficient compared to traditional lights because it uses less energy to produce the same light output.

A LED lighting is the wave of the future in lighting, with even more changes coming along. The world of lighting is constantly evolving and energy efficient LED lighting is transforming the marketplace. Providing energy and maintenance savings, LED lighting is a long-term investment, especially when replacing legacy technology. When you compare them to other energy-saving illumination methods that are available on the market today, you will find that LED lighting is by far the most power-saving and smart solution for illumination.

5 Reasons Why You Should Switch to LED Lighting

When designing a building, or renovating an existing one, one of the most important things to think about is the lighting which will be installed. Lighting can have a huge impact on the ‘feel’ of a room – too bright and the room can feel cold and stark, but too dim and the room can often feel dingy. There are hundreds of possible lighting options to choose from, but recently, the use of LEDs is being much more common.

Energy Efficiency

It’s a well known fact that LED lights use up to 50% less energy than standard fluorescent or halogen alternatives. The way in which the bulbs are designed – hemispherically rather than spherically like standard halogen bulbs – means that all the light is emitted in the correct direction and no light is wasted.

Durability

As LED lights don’t have a filament or glass housing, they are fairly resistant to breakages. The circuit board on which the light is mounted is very durable and the plastic casing which surrounds it is much stronger than glass used in traditional bulbs. Read more here.

The benefits of LED lighting are becoming widely appreciated by customers as they replace standard filament, halogen, and fluorescent strip lights.

LED lightbulbs can save you hundreds in energy bills

With prices up to £25 per bulb, the received wisdom that LED lighting is too expensive seems deserved. But rising electricity prices and falling LED costs mean that for homes with a large number of halogen bulbs, the new generation of low-energy lighting finally makes financial sense.

Concerns over the weak or cold quality of LED light have abated, say energy experts, whose verdict is backed up by shoppers posting positive online reviews on Amazon and energy-saving forums. Despite usually costing more than six times as much as halogens, the payback for LEDs now comes in 15 months or less – and for homeowners changing dozens of halogen bulbs, the savings can be in the hundreds of pounds every year afterwards.

James Russell, technical development manager at the Energy Saving Trust, said: “If customers are prepared to pay the up-front higher cost they will quickly calculate that they will see a return on their investment within the first couple of years – and will go on making financial savings for many more years. Customers will also not have the hassle of continuously replacing burnt-out halogen lamps.” LED bulbs come with advertised lifetimes of 10,000 hours and up, compared to the typical 1,000-hour lifetime of hot-running halogen bulbs. LED Lighting is more cost upfront, but the long-term benefits for almost no light replacements and monthly power bill savings are worth seriously considering this lighting alternative.

THE HEALTH BENEFITS OF LED LIGHTING

Research shows that LED lights exhibit characteristics that are better for overall health and safety than those of fluorescent, incandescent and halogen fixtures. When considering general lighting features that may affect health, like flicker, hum, burnout, heat and toxic materials, LEDs come out ahead of the competition every time.

Flicker

LED Lights exhibit very little to no flickering because they are typically powered by constant DC voltage (or use an adapter to go from AC to DC power).  In contrast, lighting fixtures that run on AC (alternating current) systems display flickering at 120 Hz (cycles per second), or double the typical US power line frequency (60 Hz). Incandescent and fluorescent lights (AC devices) both exhibit such flickering, which is difficult for the human eye to perceive, but causes problems nonetheless. Common ailments associated with flickering, according to the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), include “headaches, eye strain and general eye discomfort.”  In fact, a study published by Lighting Research and Technology in 1989 found that exposing workers to lights without flickering “resulted in more than a 50 percent drop in complaints of eye strain and headaches.”

Hum

LEDs silently and safely offer full-spectrum light. Fluorescent lights are notorious for emitting an annoying and distracting droning sound. And in fact, researcher John Ott discovered that fluorescent lights and the noise pollution associated with them cause “irritability, hyperactivity, fatigue and attention deficits” (Ott, John N. (1973). Health and Light: The Effects of Natural and Artificial Light on Man and Other Living Things).  LEDs produce no such hum. Check full article here.

A LED Lighting Is Both Environmentally And Financially User-Friendly

One of the most important characteristics of a LED lighting is that they are solid-state. The benefits of LED lighting are clear, and they can provide long-lasting, energy-efficient lighting for years to come. LED lighting can save thousands in energy costs and significantly reduce carbon emissions.

A LED lighting can be more attractive, energy efficient, cost-effective and durable than existing methods.
